CatcallingA form of street harassment. Unwanted sexual comments, gestures, whistles that make the person uncomfortable. | |
CoercionForcing, or attempting to force, another person to engage in behaviors against their will by using threats, verbal insistence, manipulation, deception, cultural expectations or economic power. | |
ConsentSomeone's voluntary agreement to or acquiescence in what another proposes or desires; compliance, concurrence, permission. | |
CyberflashingThe act of sending unsolicited, sexually explicit images or content, typically via digital platforms like social media, messaging apps, or email. It is a form of digital harassment. | |
CyberstalkingIt involves the use of digital communication platforms to harass, intimidate, or monitor an individual without their consent. Perpetrators may employ social media, email, or messaging apps to track the victim's online activity or whereabouts, instilling fear and a sense of intrusion. | |
Cycle of abuseIt refers mainly (but not only) to intimate partner violence. This cycle typically consists of three main phases: the tension-building phase, the use of violence, or “explosion” phase , the honeymoon phase. When violence is rooted, the cycles are repeated, and, like a spiral, they accelerate and increase in intensity with time. | |
