Multifunctional teams are, by nature, situations where you can find a high level of interdependency, but often with different or contrasting points of view, interests and functional interests.
This situations, which might often lead to disagreements, don’t necessarily have to be destructive.
- Destructive conflicts interfere on the effectiveness of the work, on the working atmosphere which gets more tense, and on the level of trust, which decreases.
- Constructive conflicts are a physiological aspect of group dynamics and are a key factor to initiate effective decisional processes.
