The first thing to define is how much decisional power lies in the hands of the team itself or in the hands of the team leader.
- The more the decisional power lies in the hands of the team leader, the less the team is involved, the more the leadership is authoritative.
- The more the decisional power is left to the members of the team, the higher their level of involvement, and the more the leader adopts the role of facilitator/coach of his/her team.
