More columns can be added according to the specific needs of the team.
Other than clarifying these aspects, the TO-DO-List is a tool for monitoring the activity of the team.

A working plan (one of the most popular is a Gantt chart) can really give a picture of what, who, when and how a team project can develop.
As always, if you create a working plan you have to keep in mind that planning is not doing, and usually reality is at least slightly different from what you planned it to be, but having a roadmap can be useful in order to set shared milestones and analyse risks and emergency plans.
