Completion requirements
- Finally, Geronimo should have left the country when he felt the pressure had become excessive. Before taking the trip back to Italy, he should have notified his travel details both to the Italian diplomatic authorities, and to the trusted contacts in his Home Country. Depending on the assessment of the origin of the threat, he could have also asked assistance to the local NGO for organizing a safe transit to the airport of departure.
- In the extreme case of material death threats, Geronimo should have sought immediate diplomatic counsel in person. He should have demanded physical protection, by entering and staying in the premises of the diplomatic buildings until a determination for a safe travel to Italy was reached. In case no stable Italian diplomatic presence in the country was available, Geronimo should have pushed his trusted contacts in Italy to raise the ‘red flag’ to the relevant government authorities.
