Sometimes it’s hard to have an overview of a whole city and see where urban forests are needed. EO browser lets you facilitate this process and offers the needed information about the existing areas of urban forests, their health status, and the places where urban forests are needed.

In the image below, the black area on the top represents Lake Morii which is surrounded by residential zones, agricultural fields, and around the lake a protection belt of green space.

The nr. 1 highlighted area needs more green spaces. On the right, nr. 2 are old houses, built with the necessary area of green space per citizen. In the highlighted area (nr. 1), are new build establishments, which are not taking into account the need for green space per citizen, and only the economical value. For this lack of green space, people are not buying those specific flats in that area, a fact which confirms our project idea, that people will choose to live in green cities. The nr. 1 case is having problems with heat, as in the summer, the outside temperatures rise to more than 40 degrees Celsius.

The solution would be to plant rows of trees and individual trees between the blocks. Additional convert the parking spaces into green spaces and offer the community the possibility to park in a nearby multistory parking building. The converted parking places would serve as urban forests, which further will enhance the community's wellbeing and would rise the economical value of the area. Nr. 2 case enjoys all the benefits of urban forests.
