You have now a better understanding of the capacity of GIS and RS tools in assessing and mapping the distribution and some key functional properties of urban forests. But what kind of results is it possible to obtain in terms of UF planning and management? Read an example of GIS and RS methods applied to Urban Forest assessment that develops a combination of GIS and RS methods to identify, categorize and quantify UF in the city.

To extend concrete applications of such tools in the UF field and to explore the huge possibilities offered by GIS and RS tools, why don’t you add at least one further example of a GIS platform and/or application for either planning or management of Urban Forests like the one presented above?
