Usually, the most influencing costs related to installing and managing urban forests and urban trees refer to labour, machinery, and external support. Other costs are associated with ecosystem disservices (such as pollen allergies or storm damage).

In this case, the area shows a space where the paths are used intensively. After prolonged  or heavy rains, the path is quite muddy, and people complain about this. The path can be restored, but this comes with a cost (around 2.000 €/100 meter).

In periods of heavy visits, the garbage bin is overfull, leading to unpleasant sights and attracting unwanted animals, and a cost for emptying the bin regularly (unit costs around 15 to 30 € per emptying, depending on the location and accessibility). As the tree on the left is close to the playground and can potentially harm playing children, a regular visual inspection is needed (3 times per year, more in case of storms; unit cost: 40 to 50 € per inspection).

The regular management cost is around 400 € per hectare per year, including two mowing rounds of the lawn.
