At the end of this week, participants will be able to:

  • Explain the significance of inclusive approaches in open education for marginalised communities;
  • Summarise the key components of the UNESCO OER Recommendation and explain its significance in the context of open education regarding its implications for educators, institutions, and policymakers;
  • Understand how to implement the action areas listed in the UNESCO OER Recommendation at the institutional and governmental levels through the UNESCO Guidelines;
  • Explore the implications of key social and cultural challenges and how the open education approach, community and methodologies can support addressing them more effectively;
  • Analyse the structural and cultural factors contributing to the silos between open education and open science and propose solutions for overcoming these barriers.
