WHAT?

  • Title: “Open Education Roadmap”.
  • Description: The OE Roadmap is a wiki-type resource developed by a group of Swiss and international scholars who had an intensive scientific exchange in 2022. It has been updated and developed further since then and aims to be a collaborative work open to anyone willing to contribute. It has also been shared as a PDF on Zenodo to help cross-referencing, but here we highlight the main resource, which is a living one. The roadmap has three main strategic focuses, and each focus is detailed in four actions. It also offers a rich list of References and shares details on the tools, approaches and activities that guided its development.

WHO?

  • Authors: Class Barbara, Balli Fabio, Enkerli Alexandre, Favre Sandrine, Gillet Denis, Hensler Iris, Mboa Nkoudou, Thomas Hervé, Notari Michele, Scherrer Yvonne, Tschupp Guillaume.

WHY?

  • The format the authors chose supports great collaboration between stakeholders, starting with the way the roadmap is presented. Also, the straight-to-the-point content approach is helpful in guiding adaptations: detailed descriptions need to take into account local needs and challenges, but the structured approach can be suitable as a starting point to explore local contexts more.
  • The future-looking roadmap is purposely designed to serve the community in the decision-making processes that started when it was created but will continue towards the achievement of the strategic results planned at the Swiss level (but anyone can get inspired and adapt it to their contextual purposes). It also allows changes if bumps in the road happen and engages experts to face timely sensitive challenges. It will be interesting to follow the development of its implementation in time and continue discussing it with the experts given the open approach adopted.
