{mlang it}Il Regolamento della prova finale del Corso di laurea in Progettazione dell’architettura offre allo studente la possibilità di scelta fra un elaborato di ricerca e un elaborato curricolare. In entrambi i casi si richiede una riflessione critica su un tema scelto che può emergere dai propri interessi personali e che ha suscitato curiosità nel corso delle diverse possibili esperienze di apprendimento svolte nel triennio. Nel caso dell’Elaborato A il lavoro di indagine è prevalente, mentre per l’Elaborato B esso matura a partire da alcuni approfondimenti disciplinari svolti durante le attività Laboratoriale i corsi frequentati o anche workshop, seminari, ecc. In entrambi i casi allo studente è richiesto di dimostrare non solo la conoscenza di argomenti, nozioni o strumenti ma di aver acquisito una consapevolezza critica e un metodo di lavoro che potrà utilizzare nella sua futura carriera sia essa da subito nel mondo del lavoro o di successiva formazione magistrale.

Una fondamentale differenza nella scelta del percorso da seguire è rappresentata dalla presenza di un docente relatore che guida e orienta il lavoro, previsto per l’Elaborato B di ricerca e invece uno sviluppo autonomo per l’Elaborato curricolare B che pertanto richiede una maggiore responsabilizzazione e capacità di autoverifica da parte dello studente.

È importante sottolineare come il Regolamento preveda che entrambe le tipologie di elaborato saranno valutate in sede di esame di laurea con il medesimo intervallo di punteggio da -1 a +8 punti, indipendentemente dalla tipologia dell’Elaborato finale presentato (A o B). L’attribuzione del punteggio da parte della Commissione si basa infatti sulla valutazione su di fattori diversi: l’elaborato prodotto (negli aspetti contenutistici e formali), l’esposizione orale e le risposte date dal candidato alle domande poste dai componenti della Commissione.{mlang}{mlang en}

The Integrative Regulations for the Final Examination of the Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design offer students the possibility to choose between a Research Paper (Elaborato A) and a Curricular Paper (Elaborato B). In both cases, students are required to carry out a critical reflection on a chosen topic, ideally emerging from their personal interests and from themes that sparked curiosity during various learning experiences throughout the three-year program.

For Research Paper A, the focus is primarily on research and investigation, while Curricular Paper B stems from disciplinary insights gained during design studios, coursework, workshops, seminars, or other academic activities. In both cases, students are expected not only to demonstrate knowledge of topics, notions, or tools, but also to show that they have acquired critical awareness and a methodological approach that they can apply

in their future careers—whether they enter the professional world directly or continue with graduate studies.

A key difference between the two paths lies in the presence of a supervisor:

  • For Research Paper A, the work is carried out with the guidance and support of a faculty advisor.
  • For Curricular Paper B, the student works independently, which requires greater self-direction, responsibility, and self-assessment skills.

It is important to highlight that, as stated in the Integrative Regulations, both types of final work are evaluated during the graduation exam using the same scoring range—from -1 to +8 points, regardless of the type (A or B) of final paper presented.

The final score awarded by the Graduation Committee is based on several factors:

  • The quality of the final work (in terms of both content and format),
  • The oral presentation of the project,
  • The candidate's responses to questions posed by the committee members.

This ensures that both types of final projects are assessed fairly and equitably, focusing on the student’s ability to articulate and defend their work.{mlang}
