Arthur Koestler in his book “The Act of Creation” argues that creative ideation is the result of “bisociation”, which is the intersection of two self-consistent and totally disconnected matrices of thought, which, suddenly, come together.

Koestler coins the neologism “bisociation” precisely to emphasize the fact that it is not a common process of association, but a very special one that connects two completely independent matrices of thought. According to his theory, the meeting of the two previously completely disconnected matrices generates a new matrix that represents precisely creative thinking.

Based on this reflection, please share in the forum what Hybrid Thinking means in your opinion and why it relates to the concept of “bisociation.”
