As early as 1938, John Dewey, in his work Experience and Education, emphasized that the acquisition of new knowledge—or personal transformation through learning—comes from engaging in a cycle of trying (attempting an action) and undergoing (managing the responses or feedback resulting from that action). This process allows individuals to confirm or expand their knowledge, skills, and competencies.
