Da architetto sostengo che la moda sia design - essendo questo l'atto di trasformazione che dall'idea porta all'oggetto - e che la relazione tra architettura e moda sia molto stretta. Apparentemente l'architettura è hard e gli abiti sono soft, ma anche quando gli abiti sono soft, disegno per qualcosa di hard e di definitivo: il corpo umano. Costruisco le silhouette con nitore e precisione, racchiudendole dentro forme e figure geometriche, nel rispetto di quegli studi che mi hanno insegnato a progettare entro limiti ben stabiliti. Per questa ragione non dimentico mai che l'abito è una forma piana che si sviluppa su un corpo: è bidimensionale, ma è destinato a diventare un volume tridimensionale.

As an architect I hold that fashion is design–defined as the act of transformation that leads from the idea to the object – and that the relationship between architecture and fashion is very close. Apparently architecture is hard and clothes are soft, but even though clothes are soft, I am designing for something hard and definitive: the human body. I construct the silhouette with clarity and precision, enclosing it in geometric forms, in line with my studies that taught me to work within well-established limits. For this reason I never forget that the garment is a flat form that extends over a body: it is two-dimensional, but destined to become three-dimensional.
