Groups rotation
Divide students into groups with an even number of members (max 6). Ask them to work in distinct locations (also in the same room is fine, it’s just to identify a space as “the group space”). Each group has to perform an activity consistent with the objective of the lesson: discuss a statement, propose an alternative to a procedure, analyse a process. After a few minutes (according to your schedule, it can last between 3 and 5 minutes), ask each group member to move to the next group (for example: even-numbered members to the group on the left, odd-numbered members to the group on the right) and work on a different activity which is related to the result achieved in the previous one. This confrontation with different group members creates a situation in which the first step is naturally assessed between peers according to the objective of the second step. Therefore, it is very important to have two connected activities with no univocal answer to the first stimulus.
