Learning outcomes

At the end of the week students will be able to…:

  • Explain the necessity of a circular approach, especially for composite materials, and use introduced design strategies to enable a circular economy for next-gen composite components;
  • Identify a suitable debonding on demand system for a targeted application in the composite field by using knowledges developed in the module and design a validation process;
  • Describe the main classes of reversible materials for recyclable-by-design composite systems and discuss their main characteristics in comparison with conventional thermosets;
  • Understand the fundamental differences between recycled and virgin feedstock for composites and identify suitable characterization methods to study related material properties.
