Learning outcomes

At the end of module 3 students will be able to…:

  • Identify the different chemical strategies to obtain a reversible composite matrix based on covalent adaptable networks;
  • Discuss the differences between associative and dissociative covalent adaptable networks on the basis of the chemical mechanisms involved;
  • Discuss the crosslinked network formation mechanism for the main classes of covalent adaptable networks, and its effect on polymer network stiffness and viscoelastic behavior;
  • Discuss the main experimental approaches used to assess the reversibility of polymer matrix materials, highlighting main advantages and limitations.
