  • begin formative assessment early in the semester, to exploit at best students' freshness
  • add remarks during the lectures about the misconceptions you noticed thanks to the failed answers
  • make connections between exercises solved in the class and exercises in the online libraries (or given on other supports)
  • talk personally to students who fail many questions in the same week
  • prepare summative assessment carefully, with questions similar to the ones students answered by themselves and into groups.
