WEEK 2 - INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES

In week 2, we will focus the attention on the important topic of how to manage a sustainable supply chain. To pursue this goal, the week will investigate two main topics, for instance how the seasonal collection development is connected with supply chain decisions and how fashion companies should design their products and their supply chains to assure a sustainable future.

After this week you will be able to:

  • know the basic structure of the New Collection Development process, its timeline and main phases;
  • understand the critical aspects of the New Collection Development process and how (digital) technologies could help improving efficiency and effectiveness of such process;
  • explore the definition of circular economy in the context of fashion where there are significant problems in terms of environmental and social issues;
  • understand the differences between circular and linear business models;
  • analyse some exemplar cases and assess the opportunities for value creation from waste;
  • evaluate the outcomes of product and process innovation.
