After you have watched the video “ ”, reflect and answer to the following questions.
The following questions have been adapted by the teaching notes for the film developed by the producer that can be contacted by writing at Email "steve.crawford@mac.com"Email "ronan@fullfocus.com" or Email "diversophy@gmail.com".

  1. What aspects of the video’s main characters are due to aspects of individual or personality differences, or due to culture differences? Why? How did you feel that culture was treated in the script by the authors and by the actors?
  2. What are the traditional ways of teaching and learning in your culture? Describe the relationship between teachers and students in your country and in your specific classroom context? And at the University’s classroom that you could see in the video?
  3. In the Act I of the video, Mikko tells Warren how he intends to organise the students into groups. He says that he wants “mixed groups to create synergy,” and that he would assign them randomly by nationality, and then let them work on their own from there. If you were Mikko, how would you organise the groups? What would be your criteria and rationale for doing so?
  4. When facing a difficult interpersonal or group situation, how do you react as a teacher? In what ways are conflicts managed by students in your teaching environment? What do you think might be a better way to manage intercultural group conflict?
