Introduction
This week focuses on understanding and applying the second step of design thinking process: Define. The aim of this step is to transform the information collected in design opportunities . Within this step it is fundamental to make sense of all the possibilities identified developing a clear creative brief that frames the fundamental design challenge. A deep study of the data gathered and the use of imagination to juxtapose the information in non-obvious ways are needed to unlock the current situations, to rich an understanding of gaps, relationships and unmet needs.
The week will present design tools that support the activities within the steps and different creative techniques to empower Creative Thinking obtaining powerful results.
Intended Learning Outcomes (ILO):
If you actively participate in this week, you will be able to:
- Recognise the importance of reframing a problem to define new design opportunities
- Determine the relevant insight out of the information collected and analyzed
- Create different scenarios of possible design opportunities
- Formulate the right questions that will lead you to the most innovative answers
- Apply practical activities that stress your creative thinking mindset in this step of the process
