Introduction
This week focuses on understanding and applying the fourth step of the design thinking process: Prototype. This step aims at enriching and refining the idea, through the development of tangible artefacts that make it concrete and that support building and visualizing the future envisioned solution. This step provides also iterative cycles of learning and validation of the solution through feedback collection that support a continuous learning approach and leads to an eventual validation of the idea. In the end, the idea is described concretely.
The week will present design tools that support the activities within the steps and different creative techniques to empower Creative Thinking obtaining valuable results.
Intended Learning Outcomes (ILO):
If you actively participate in this week, you will be able to:
- Recognise the value of making ideas tangible to improve them
- Understand different prototyping techniques and compare them to use them differently according to the selected idea
- Apply low-fi prototyping technique to make ideas tangible
- Evaluate user feedback to improve the idea and apply them to continue to build it
- Apply practical activities that stress your creative thinking mindset in this step of the process
