In this Week you will have a series of examples of applications of the Metadesign approach into different design sectors such as product design, interior design, fashion design and design for cultural heritage. In particular, you will be able to:

  • discuss the Metadesign applications in different segments of product design recognizing the different perspectives and approaches applied and analysing the different processes output;

  • distinguish stages of the process Metadesign is manifested in spatial projects and its different forms, such as methodological tools and phased process; completed and conceptual projects as outcomes of these tools and phases of the process; multiple projects as the result of the adoption of groups of fixed elements;

  • discuss the Metadesign approach applied to the design process of a Fashion collection, following a reverse approach that allows to recognize the different steps of a metadesign research as methodology to structure the whole design process for an apparel collection;

  • distinguish some possible tools able to trigger and foster innovative concepts in the design for cultural heritage that touches different scales of intervention and different kinds of cultural assets;

  • reflect, synthetize and visualize the Metadesign process of your main project with a 2-3’ video;

  • and finally, analyze a product/family of product and explicit the metadesign process of its development as a process flow diagram.
