Erosive wear of prototype-scale pelton turbines

Possible improvements of the multiscale model include: a thorough sensitivity analysis of the erosion results to variations of the model inputs, including the material model parameters, the sediment sphericity and size distribution; implementation of more accurate and less computationally expensive discretization schemes for both the microscale and the macroscale; the inclusion of additional microscale material models to handle the case of hard-coated turbines, whose damage mechanism is very different from that of ductile metals.
