THE PROBLEM
The well system is an infrastructure able to connect the Reservoir to Surface Network. The Completion Tubing String is the mean convoying the hydrocarbon fluids from the producing layer up to wellhead. Consequently, the tubing string is the most exposed to erosion phenomena in its wetted part. Erosion is the result of mechanical removal of material from surfaces in contact with flowing fluids. It needs special concerns for well equipment subject to high velocity multiphase streams or with high solids production. Reduction in tubing wall thickness could lead in losing of Well System Integrity, with associated potential failure and higher activities risks.
