Build your own Case Study
Introduction
As explained in the previous video, Netflix represents an example of how a company can produce disruptive innovations in logistics and distribution activities in the cinema industry.
In this activity, starting from Netflix Case Study, you are invited to reflect on business models that cause disruptive innovation and build your own Case Study.
This activity is not subject to evaluation for the purposes of the Certificate of Participation in the course, but it is intended to stimulate you to start thinking about this topic.
Activity Part 1 - Netflix Case Study
In this first part of the activity, you can deepen Netflix business case, following this two steps:
- read about the Netflix business model
- check one of the many available examples of the Netflix Business Model Canvas
Activity Part 2 - Build your own Case Study
In this second part of the activity, you are now invited to build your own Case Study.
To this aim, taking a cue from the Netflix example, try to select a company that represents as well a disruptive innovator in its business area. Once you have identified the company, you can:
- search the internet for papers, posts, other materials that provide information on its business model
- search the internet for its business model canvas (see Netflix example)
- create your case study on the company, producing an output that can summarize it effectively: you can for example realize a ppt, a business model canvas, a document, a conceptual map or any other resource you choose
The output will remain a tool for you that can both stimulate your reflections on disruptive innovation and be applied in your further case studies analysis.
