Exacerbation

The different opinions crystallize in opposing points of view, perception becomes selective and they highlight the positive aspects of their proposal, compared to that of the other party.
The counter-parties become aware of the tension and experience it unpleasantly.
LET'S SEE AN EXAMPLE
Description of the scene: Oliver and Barbara invited some guests for dinner (Oliver’s chiefs) and, while eating, Oliver tries to hinder his wife. He asks her to tell the guests an anecdote but Barbara doesn’t remember the details of this story very well. Oliver focuses only on his wife’s mistakes and he shows off by correcting her and precising what she can’t explain clearly (Perception becomes selective). At the same time, Barbara adds some comments to her arguments, but these comments are aimed to annoy her husband (tension). Because of Oliver’s intrusive and humiliating behavior, Barbara can’t express her point of view and she doesn’t find the right words to express her emotions. Her humiliation achieves the peak when Oliver starts to talk and doesn’t permit her to finish the story (barbara experiences tension unpleasantly)
