Recognising the signs of a conflict

For conflict management, you should use the same approach as for your own health: if you recognize and deal with the first signs of ‘disorder’ a complete and timely recovery is more likely.
Below, some of the most common signals:
- people talk less with one another;
- the tone becomes colder and more formal;
- looking for a culprit rather than a solution;
- there is not much listening, they do not try to understand the other;
- they want to get their idea across at the first opportunity;
- the conflict begins to bite: you sleep badly, or not enough;
- calmness is decreasing, worry, anxiety and aggression are on the rise;
- the climate becomes overbearing, there’s no laughter any more.
