Whenever we perform a psychological game, we enter one of the three roles in the drama triangle. Let’s look at them in detail.

Rescuer:

strives to help others, often replacing them, deprecating their ability to act, think and manage themselves independently (thus confirming their sense of helplessness and inadequacy). They attribute value to the extent that they are useful to others (thus avoiding feeling like the Victim). They need victims around them to continue the Game.

Persecutor:

to avoid ending up as the Victim, they invite others to take the role. They do it by attacking, criticizing, belittling, judging and condemning others.

Victim:

feels inferior to the others, deprecates their own ability to think and act. They go in search of a Persecutor or Rescuer that goes along with their position.
