DeepMind Technologies is a British artificial intelligence subsidiary of Alphabet founded in September 2010. Then, it was acquired by Google in 2014 for 500 million USD. It mainly develops deep learning techniques for various applications, including health. The number of researchers in 2020 is over 1000. MICROSOFT

Microsoft Research is composed by a number of laboratories spread in all the world (including Redmond, Cambridge, Peking, Bangalore, Santa Barbara, New York) with more than 1000 researchers. OpenAI was founded in San Francisco in late 2015 by Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and others, who collectively pledged 1 billion US dollar. Musk resigned from the board in February 2018 but remained a donor. In 2019, OpenAI LP received a US$1 billion investment from Microsoft. In 2020, OpenAI has more than 120 researchers.
