It's your turn to practice with the AIbook Smart Learning – Learning with AI!
This exercise, unlike the Take Away Quizzes at the end of each module, is not graded and does not count toward earning the Open Badge. However, it is a valuable opportunity to deepen your understanding of the course topics and apply the concepts you’ve learned in a practical and interactive way.
Exercise 1: Create schematic materials
Objective: To develop schematic materials that effectively summarize the main information of a topic.
- Select a topic: Choose a text, lesson or handout you want to work on.
- Schematic material: Using the AIbook, ask them to turn the material into a schematic document, interacting until you think you have found the right level of synthesis.
- Review: Review the generated outline and compare it to your original notes:
- Check to see if any important information is missing.
- Add useful details if needed.
- Cognitive map and tables: Organize material into a cognitive map and tables.

Exercise 2: Building a glossary and guiding questions for active learning
Objective: To consolidate understanding of the key terms of a topic and develop questions that stimulate critical learning.
- Select a topic: Choose a text, lesson or handout you want to work on.
- Construction of the glossary:
- Using the AIbook, build a glossary with the key terms or main concepts present in the material.
- Review the definitions provided and verify their correctness with other sources.
- Creating Guiding Questions:

- Application:
- Analyze the text with the help of the glossary and guiding questions.

Exercise 3: Synthesis and critical analysis
Objective: To develop the ability to synthesize and critically analyze a complex text.
Provide the AIbook with an academic text or article on a topic of interest to you and:
- Ask them to analyze the logical passages and the main connections of the text.
- Using the AIbook, create a short summary that highlights the fundamental theories or principles underlying the text.
- Critically check the results, comparing them with other sources or your previous knowledge.
