I think that active learning could be more «expensive» for time consuming, new knowledge to get, etc. compared to traditional lecturing but I am sure the benefits active learning could bring more lasting results over time to students. If I learn by doing I won't forget anymore!

To answer all these questions, I think the first thing we must determine is the purpose of teaching and learning.
That is to impart knowledge to students so they can apply it to their lives. If the input information is not conveyed and memorized, how can we hope for guaranteed output? The research data has shown that developing active learning will bring many benefits to students:
Firstly, it stimulates and reinforces pre-existing knowledge – like the circle of a spiral – which is knowledge that grows.
Secondly, it develops social skills in students when working in groups and helps them see different aspects of the same problem when comparing with other students.
Thirdly, it promotes student initiative in learning and shows them the beauty and value of knowledge. The ultimate goal is to empower children to take control of your own learning process, which will serve their long-term development (lifelong learning).
