The potential of the Raum für Nachhaltigkeit (RfN) approach for the future
“Raum für Nachhaltigkeit” offers an approach to working towards the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals, Sdgs Un) in a way that is non-prescriptive and supports the development of open thinking and creativity.
The SDGs particularly associated with this approach include SDG 3: “Good health and wellbeing”, “SDG 4: Quality education”, “SDG 11:Sustainable communities and cities”, SDG 12: “Responsible consumption and production”, SDG 16: “Peaceful and inclusive communities”.
“Raum für Nachhaltigkeit” is an open design forum that is potentially useful for learners and for educators across the globe. The ethos of Raum für Nachhaltigkeit is non-authoritarian: there are no winners or losers. The approach is experimental, open, unpredictable, dynamic, conversational. “Raum für Nachhaltigkeit” works on the basis that we can achieve real benefits through working together whilst also strongly respecting the voice of the individual. Participation in this approach is encouraged to promote peace, democracy and inclusivity.
This open approach allows for a shift in design thinking that respects both the creativity of the individual and the creativity of the group. Part of the benefit of the Raum für Nachhaltigkeit approach is that it offers the opportunity to make shifts in behavior in a safe collaborative space. The benefits are both tangible and intangible.
For example, there is the project Worm Hotel: Interacting Life! by May Reda, a 'tangible' facade for a worm hotel on the FLUX-terrace, UAAV, which reflects the life of worms. At every point, May Reda wanted to convey a sense of livingness. She wanted to give a sense of how these worms, unassuming creatures, play an important role in transforming waste into valuable resources for the raised beds at FLUX-Terrace, thus also expressing intangible value in her artistic design project.
Another 'tangible' example you can find within the project is Edible Garden by Golnaz Walamotamed, who created an 'intangible' learning space at FLUX-Terrace, UAAV. The student encouraged creativity and practical knowledge in sustainable design principles with edible flowers. Golnaz promotes a holistic and sustainable approach to collaboration in art education and culinary explorations.

Ad esempio, c'è il progetto Worm Hotel: Interacting Life! di May Reda, una facciata "tangibile" per un hotel di vermi sulla terrazza FLUX, UAAV, che riflette la vita dei vermi. In ogni punto, May Reda ha voluto trasmettere un senso di vita. Voleva dare un'idea di come questi vermi, creature senza pretese, svolgano un ruolo importante nel trasformare i rifiuti in risorse preziose per i letti rialzati della FLUX-Terrace, esprimendo così anche un valore intangibile nel suo progetto di design artistico.

Golnaz promuove un approccio olistico e sostenibile alla collaborazione nell'educazione artistica e nelle esplorazioni culinarie.

La estudiante fomentó la creatividad y el conocimiento práctico de los principios del diseño sostenible con flores comestibles. Golnaz promueve un enfoque holístico y sostenible de la colaboración en la educación artística y las exploraciones culinarias.

Raum für Nachhaltigkeit
Der "Raum für Nachhaltigkeit" bietet einen Ansatz für die Arbeit an den SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals, Sdgs Un der nicht präskriptiv ist und die Entwicklung von offenem Denken und Kreativität unterstützt.
Zu den SDGs, die mit diesem Ansatz besonders in Verbindung gebracht werden, gehören SDG 3: "Gute Gesundheit und Wohlbefinden", SDG 4: "Qualitativ hochwertige Bildung", SDG 11: "Nachhaltige Gemeinden und Städte", SDG 12: "Verantwortungsvoller Konsum und verantwortungsvolle Produktion", SDG 16: "Friedliche und inklusive Gemeinschaften".
"Raum für Nachhaltigkeit" ist ein offenes Designforum, das für Lernende und Lehrende auf der ganzen Welt von Nutzen sein kann. Der Ethos von Raum für Nachhaltigkeit ist nicht-autoritär: Es gibt keine Gewinner oder Verlierer. Der Ansatz ist experimentell, offen, unvorhersehbar, dynamisch und dialogisch. Der "Raum für Nachhaltigkeit" geht davon aus, dass wir durch Zusammenarbeit einen echten Nutzen erzielen können, während gleichzeitig die Stimme des Einzelnen stark respektiert wird. Die Teilnahme an diesem Ansatz wird gefördert, um Frieden, Demokratie und Inklusivität zu fördern.
Diese offene Herangehensweise ermöglicht einen Wandel im Designdenken, der sowohl die Kreativität des Einzelnen als auch die Kreativität der Gruppe respektiert. Ein Teil des Nutzens des Ansatzes von Raum für Nachhaltigkeit besteht darin, dass er die Möglichkeit bietet, in einem sicheren kollaborativen Raum Verhaltensänderungen zu bewirken. Die Vorteile sind sowohl greifbar als auch nicht greifbar.
Ein Beispiel dafür ist das Projekt Worm Hotel: Interacting Life! von May Reda, eine "greifbare" Fassade für ein Wurmhotel auf der FLUX-Terrasse, UAAV, die das Leben der Würmer widerspiegelt. May Reda wollte in jedem Punkt ein Gefühl von Lebendigkeit vermitteln. Sie wollte ein Gefühl dafür vermitteln, wie diese Würmer, unscheinbare Lebewesen, eine wichtige Rolle bei der Umwandlung von Abfällen in wertvolle Ressourcen für die Hochbeete auf der FLUX-Terrasse spielen und damit auch einen immateriellen Wert in ihrem künstlerischen Designprojekt zum Ausdruck bringen.
Ein weiteres "greifbares" Beispiel im Rahmen des Projekts ist Edible Garden von Golnaz Walamotamed, die einen "nicht greifbaren" Lernraum in FLUX-Terrace, UAAV, geschaffen hat. Die Studentin förderte mit essbaren Blumen die Kreativität und das praktische Wissen über nachhaltige Gestaltungsprinzipien. Golnaz fördert einen ganzheitlichen und nachhaltigen Ansatz für die Zusammenarbeit in der Kunsterziehung und bei kulinarischen Erkundungen.
