Self-management or more precisely self-regulation refers to the act of managing cognition and emotion to enable goal-directed actions such as organising behaviour, controlling impulses, and solving problems constructively.

Self-management skills comprise agency, commitment, goal orientation, planning, self-awareness, self-confidence, self-control, taking the initiative, and time management.

Team management is the process of leading a specific group of individuals toward the accomplishment of a common and predetermined goal. The term "team management" encompasses behaviors, approaches, and plans that inspire and unite a group to collaborate efficiently and achieve a shared objective. It involves various activities such as planning, organising, leading, and controlling team efforts.

Team management skills encompass cooperation, working in a team, adaptation, and other similar skills.
