Access to comprehensive and reliable data is essential for understanding and addressing gender inequalities in the Clean Energy sector. In this lesson, we will take a look at some indicative data regarding the representation of women in different parts and levels of the energy sector and the clean energy transition, such as employment, wages, education, businesses, and policy-making.

Gender-disaggregated data is necessary to accurately assess and identify patterns of gender segregation, measure the gender gap, and track progress over time. Unfortunately, there is limited availability of such data in the European Union. To advance gender equality, it is crucial to improve data collection and monitoring mechanisms. Addressing the data gap is vital for evidence-based policies and actions to enhance women's representation and participation in the Clean Energy sector.
