• According to Kurt Lewin, change is a phase characterized by instability, preceded and followed by periods of stability that represent the ‘normal', consolidated state:
      • in the U (Unfreeze) phase, focus is on the reason for the need for change. The old structures should be dissolved, so that they can be unlearned and implemented anew;
      • in the C (Change) phase, cognitive restructuring takes place, that is, learning the skills necessary for the new desired status;
      • in the F (Freeze) phase, the new structures are consolidated and a stable situation is created again.
  • The main criticism of the model: the modern context, characterized by continuous change, makes it difficult to distinguish it into three phases.
