Awareness of the change increases in this phase. The people involved try to understand the consequences of the new situation and begin to accept it, at least partially and at a rational level.
Some will try to cling to the past and try to save the most of the old status quo; others will begin to negotiate the best conditions for their future.

LET'S SEE AN EXAMPLE

We’ll now describe the scene: The Queen gets another phone call from the Prime Minister, who tells her bad news. Because of her bad behavior, the monarchy has been damaged and a subject out of four agrees to abolish the monarchy. Therefore, the Prime Minister has the duty  to suggest the best strategy in order to save the monarchy (Negotiate the best conditions for the future).
