Suppression and venting

In daily life we often oscillate between the attempt to suppress emotions and uncontrollably venting them.
The risk is that emotions that are not addressed emerge in a ‘disguised’ manner (arguments, demotivation, symptomatic illnesses) or continue to accumulate until they emerge unexpectedly.
Both extremes are highly ineffective in conflict management. The happy medium, which passes through the development of emotional skills, needs to be found.
