In psychological theory, families of basic emotions are suggested, that is, emotions are innate or acquired in the first few months of life, such as:
- Anger
- Fear
- Sadness
- Happiness
- Surprise
- Disgust
“Even though emotions are not in themselves ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, ‘good’ or ‘bad’, some emotions (for example, anger, envy, jealousy) possess a 'destructive’ nature for our relationships and our vital energy. In conflicts, especially those with a high level of escalation, we often encounter destructive emotions.”
Dalai Lama / Daniel Goleman (2003)
