To perform a confrontational talk effectively, just knowing how to express your point of view without blaming the other is not enough.

You must also allow the other the opportunity to better outline their point of view.

The questions that are helpful to clarify your point of view, are the same that now help you to better understand the point of view of the other:

  • What bothers my interlocutor?
  • What are its thoughts or feelings on it?
  • What needs of it are unmet?
  • Why this issue is important to her/him?
  • What are its fixed desires?
  • What might their realistic goal be?
