In order to resolve a conflict it is essential to know ‘how to turn over a new leaf’ and to go from the negative feelings of the recent past to an orientation towards possible solutions in the future. It is therefore necessary to:
1. Express desires and needs
You have to have clarity on what needs, desires and interests are important for both of your positions.
2. Collect ideas to resolve the issue
Collect all possible ideas and actions that could be used to resolve the issue in the long terms, to the satisfaction of both.
3. Define concrete agreements for the future
Conclude the talk by concretely agreeing what the next steps to be taken should be, and how collaboration or the relationship should be structured in the future.
